ok, i've been watching the show "inked" on a&e and i think it's a really cool show about tattoo artists in las vegas.
and lately i've been thinking about getting a tattoo somewhere on my body, possiblely my lower back.
my sister has one there and i think it's really cool.
I've got one. It's a Native American fish design similar to the Pisces astrological symbol. It’s on my right shoulder and about 2.5 inches in diameter (that’s 6.3 cm for you metric users).
I’ve often considered getting more and I’ve even designed several concepts that I would use but I have a hard time justifying spending the money on them when I have three young ones to feed and clothe.
woke up saturday morning, after a nice night of drinking with buddies.
had to get ready for my bookstudy---yeccch.. drag my ass to the arrangement, bo (bookstudy overseer) asks if i can read today.
bahhhhh.
My Saturday morning was productive. I got up early 7:50 am and went to a local equipment rental store. I rented a lawn aerator for about $57.00. Then I stopped at the petrol station and filled up the wife’s van with $50.08 worth of fuel. Had breakfast (home made banana, mango, apple, cinnamon muffins) with the family. Then I aerated my lawn, which is certainly not the easiest thing I’ve ever done. It doesn’t help that my lawn is fenced in. Thank goodness I don’t have to do that yearly. Then I just lounged around for until my wife and I put the kids down for their nap at one o’clock. After that I went for a motorcycle ride with my old man. Put on about 65 miles in three hours. But I digress.
I remember a few of my JW friends had Saturday morning book studies. I couldn’t imagine getting out of bed early for a book study. Saturday morning field service was a once or twice a month type deal for my family so I just knew that if I attended a Saturday morning book study that it would be followed by field service.

for those of you in a serious relationship, is your partner "worldly", an ex dub, or a current dub?.
my wife is an ex dub like me.. it certainly helps that she understands why i am the way i am, and the actions of her in - laws.. what about you?
My wife was raised as a Catholic. However, she doesn't attend church and knows very little about the bible. I think she gets a little jealous of the time that I spend on this board.
what would your views be on mormons?.
was there much incidences where jw's and mormons would ever catch eachother while going door-to-door?.
just curious cause both of you do it and wondered if there was ever any conflict between the two..... evanescence
I’ve had Mormons stop by my doorstep twice now in the last two months or so. The first time I just told them that I wasn’t interested. I was expecting JW’s and was looking forward to giving them a thrashing so I was a little disappointed when I found out they were Mormons.
The second time they came by I asked them all kinds of doctrinal questions. They handled my questions quite well, which led me to believe that these particular two gents were well versed in their religion. They left me with a pamphlet that tells the story of how the church got founded. It felt like reading and looked like WBTS rhetoric. The boys were nice and I enjoyed our chat however I tend to agree with TD regarding some of the similarities that he’s mentioned.
my question may seem vague but if one decides to leave "the organization", why write a formal letter?
why not just leave and not have any further contact with the witnesses?
is there some legitimate legal reason for this or do people do this because the witness thinking has overtaken their logic?
If a letter of disassociation were made public, read in front of the congregation, or posted on the back board then I’d be all for it. What do you think that the elders do with your letter? You can bet money that they’re certainly not going to make your letter a study article for the Tuesday night book study. I can understand all of the positives that writing a letter will do for one personally. Bottom line is that only two or three people will ever read it. They’ll then throw it in the trash, lock it in some file cabinet, or burn it and they’ll filter any information that you’ve put into it through WTBS colored glasses.

a long time ago, when i was just starting in the "troof", i brought my camera to the hall, and i was taking pictures of just about anything there.
i love taking pictures, so i wanted a few pictures of sexy sisters of my fellow witnesses and a few pictures of the hall to show my family.. but, i had the impression that it wasn't ok to do that.
i felt as if being new to the org, that they tolerated it so i never did that again.. i know that in certain places, like government buildings or military installations, you're not allowed to take pictures.
My mom always waited until we got home and then she let me have it. It didn't take me long to realize that if I hurried up to my room I could pad my rear with a few extra pairs of underware. Boy, what a difference that made.
I sure am glad there are no pictures of that.
imo, they are no different a form of entertainment than the gladiatorial arena fights of ancient rome.
i actually feel that they are more sinister because they attack people on an emotional level.
jerry springer, dr. phil, the real world, survivor, elimidate, all are full of nothing but catty, bitchy women and douchebag frat boys or people cheating on one another, or a panel of celebrity "judges" who do nothing but get laughs by ruthlessly insulting other people.
I agree that "reality" tv shows can be the bottom of the barrel. I also would much rather watch the History Channel or Discovery channel. I cancelled my cable tv subscription about five years ago so now my choice of networks is FOX, CBS, NBC, ABC, and PBS. PBS barely comes in clearly enough for me to really enjoy it. So having said all that I'll admit that I watch Survivor. Try not to thrash me too badly.
the meaning of daniel 4:10-17 is found in daniel 4:20-27. i am going to place the interpretation daniel gives for each element beside the interpretation given by the christian congregation of jehovah's witnesses.. i invite any witness to explain why the interpetation given in the bible is open to re-interpretation of a later fulfillment that does not correspond, on a single element, with the orginal interpretation.. .

Oh I see how you are. You throw a question out there to get a couple nibbles and then after a few of us have put in our two cents you tell us what your true mode of operation was. Now I bet your planning on turning your photos over to children services as evidence that JW's promote child abuse, huh?
